10 x 99% purity Glutathione 1500mg

Classification

10 x 99% Purity Glutathione 1500mg is a product containing glutathione, a naturally occurring antioxidant made from three amino acids: cysteine, glutamic acid, and glycine. Glutathione participates in several cellular processes, particularly those involving oxidative balance and the body’s antioxidant defense systems.

The 1500mg designation refers to the labeled amount of glutathione, while the stated 99% purity represents an analytical specification. A purity claim by itself does not establish FDA approval, sterility, clinical effectiveness, or suitability for injection. This distinction is particularly important for glutathione products marketed for parenteral use. FDA has previously reported adverse events associated with compounded injectable glutathione containing excessive bacterial endotoxins.

What Is 10 x 99% Purity Glutathione 1500mg?

Glutathione is an endogenous antioxidant found throughout the body, with particularly important roles inside cells. It exists primarily in reduced and oxidized forms, with reduced glutathione participating in antioxidant reactions that help cells manage reactive oxygen species.

A 1500mg product provides a labeled quantity of glutathione for its specified intended use. Buyers should review the product formulation, ingredient identity, batch-specific testing, certificate of analysis, and intended-use designation rather than relying exclusively on the advertised purity percentage.

Glutathione is also used as an ingredient in some dietary supplement products. However, a glutathione powder or supplement ingredient should not automatically be considered appropriate for sterile injectable preparation. FDA has specifically warned that ingredients intended for dietary supplements may not be suitable for sterile drugs because of contamination and endotoxin concerns.

Dosage

There is no single FDA-approved dosage for a commercially marketed Glutathione 1500mg research or supplement product that applies across all formulations and routes of administration. The appropriate amount depends on the formulation, route, intended use, and applicable clinical or product-specific instructions.

For product evaluation, important considerations include:

• Confirming the identity and form of glutathione.
• Reviewing batch-specific purity and analytical testing.
• Checking the labeled amount and formulation.
• Following the manufacturer’s directions for the specific product.
• Following professional medical advice when glutathione is being used as part of medical care.
• Never assuming that a 1500mg label represents an appropriate injectable dose.

The 1500mg quantity identifies the amount supplied; it does not establish a universally appropriate dose.

How Does 10 x 99% Purity Glutathione 1500mg Work?

Glutathione functions as an important component of the body’s endogenous antioxidant system. Reduced glutathione can participate in reactions that neutralize reactive compounds and helps maintain cellular redox balance.

Glutathione also works alongside enzymes such as glutathione peroxidase and glutathione reductase. Together, these systems help regulate oxidative processes within cells.

Because glutathione participates in multiple biochemical pathways, its biological role is broader than simply acting as an antioxidant supplement. The effects of externally administered glutathione can also vary depending on route, formulation, absorption, and individual physiology.

Benefits

Glutathione is widely researched because of its role in antioxidant defense and cellular redox regulation. Its biological functions have generated interest across nutritional, metabolic, dermatologic, and cellular research.

Potential research and nutritional areas include:

• Antioxidant defense.
• Cellular redox balance.
• Oxidative-stress research.
• Glutathione metabolism.
• Liver and cellular metabolism research.
• Immune-function research.
• Nutritional biochemistry.

Some commercial products also promote glutathione for skin-brightening or cosmetic purposes. However, these claims should be presented cautiously because evidence varies according to the route and formulation, and a supplement should not be represented as a treatment for a medical condition.

When Should You Take 10 x 99% Purity Glutathione 1500mg?

The appropriate timing depends on the formulation and intended use. There is no universal FDA-approved schedule for a commercially marketed 1500mg glutathione product.

For an oral dietary supplement, consumers should follow the product’s labeled directions. If glutathione is being administered as part of medical care, timing and route should be determined by the qualified healthcare professional overseeing treatment.

For injectable formulations, the quality and sterility of the specific preparation are critical considerations. FDA has previously documented serious reactions associated with contaminated compounded glutathione injections.

When Should You Not Take 10 x 99% Purity Glutathione 1500mg?

Glutathione should not be treated as a replacement for prescribed medical treatment. Individuals with significant medical conditions should discuss supplementation or administration with an appropriate healthcare professional before use.

Additional caution is appropriate for people who:

• Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Are under 18 years of age.
• Have significant liver or kidney disease.
• Have a history of serious allergic reactions.
• Take multiple prescription medications.
• Have a chronic respiratory or metabolic condition.
• Have previously experienced an adverse reaction to glutathione products.
• Are considering an injectable formulation from a nontraditional source.

For injectable products, the quality of the sterile preparation is especially important.

What Is the Mechanism of 10 x 99% Purity Glutathione 1500mg?

Glutathione operates primarily through its role in cellular redox regulation. Reduced glutathione can donate electrons during antioxidant reactions, becoming oxidized glutathione in the process. Cellular enzymes can then help restore glutathione to its reduced state.

This recycling process allows glutathione to participate repeatedly in antioxidant defense. It also contributes to the activity of glutathione-dependent enzymes and detoxification pathways.

The biological effects of supplementation depend on how the product is absorbed and metabolized. Therefore, the mechanism of an oral glutathione product cannot automatically be assumed to be identical to that of an intravenous preparation.

Uses of 10 x 99% Purity Glutathione 1500mg

Glutathione is used and researched in nutritional, biochemical, and cellular research because of its role in antioxidant defense. It is also included in some dietary supplement formulations.

Potential areas of research include:

• Oxidative-stress research.
• Antioxidant physiology.
• Cellular redox regulation.
• Glutathione metabolism.
• Nutritional research.
• Liver-related biochemical research.
• Cosmetic and dermatologic research.

Glutathione should not be promoted as an FDA-approved treatment for liver disease, cancer, chronic illness, skin disorders, or other medical conditions.

Warnings and Precautions for 10 x 99% Purity Glutathione 1500mg

Product quality is an important consideration when purchasing glutathione, particularly for injectable products. FDA previously investigated adverse events involving patients who received compounded intravenous glutathione. The agency found excessive bacterial endotoxin levels in the glutathione powder used to compound those products. Reported reactions included nausea, vomiting, chills, body aches, low blood pressure, and difficulty breathing.

FDA also emphasized that ingredients intended for dietary supplements are not automatically appropriate for sterile injectable drugs.

Important precautions include:

• Do not interpret 99% purity as FDA approval.
• Review the certificate of analysis for the specific batch.
• Verify the product’s intended use.
• Do not assume supplement-grade material is suitable for injection.
• Evaluate sterile manufacturing and contamination controls for injectable products.
• Do not use products with unclear labeling or compromised packaging.

A current FDA recall published in August 2026 also involved certain compounded glutathione 200mg/mL multi-dose vials because of elevated bacterial endotoxin levels, highlighting the continuing importance of quality controls for injectable glutathione.

Side Effects of 10 x 99% Purity Glutathione 1500mg

The potential side effects of glutathione can depend on the route of administration, formulation, dose, product quality, and individual sensitivity. Oral and injectable products should not be assumed to have identical safety profiles.

The most significant documented concerns involve contaminated injectable preparations. FDA has reported reactions associated with excessive endotoxin exposure, including fever, chills, nausea, vomiting, muscle aches, hypotension, and severe systemic reactions.

Anyone experiencing breathing difficulty, severe weakness, fainting, fever, significant swelling, or another serious reaction after using a glutathione product should seek prompt medical attention.

Storage for 10 x 99% Purity Glutathione 1500mg

Storage requirements vary according to the specific formulation. Keep Glutathione 1500mg in its original packaging and follow the manufacturer’s storage instructions.
